- No customs, no surprise fees: our stock is in Switzerland and ships straight to you.
- Clear origin: saffron from Iran, the country that produces most of the world’s saffron.
- Whole threads: no powder, so much less risk of blending with turmeric or safflower.

What is Sargol saffron?
In Iran, saffron is graded by which part of the stigma is kept. Sargol keeps only the red tips of the stigmas, without the yellow style. The result is intense colour, strong aroma and very little waste. This is the saffron we sell. Learn more in our guide to Iranian saffron.
How much does our saffron cost?

Price as of 28 October 2026. Why saffron is the world’s most expensive spice: why is saffron so expensive.
How many dishes from 5 g?
Saffron is measured by the pinch. For a risotto or rice for 4 people, a small pinch of threads is enough, about 0.1 to 0.2 g. A 5 g tin therefore covers dozens of dishes. For the best result, crush the threads and steep them for 15 to 20 minutes in a little warm water. All our tips: how to use saffron.
How to recognise real saffron
Good saffron comes as deep red, dry, brittle threads with a floral, slightly honeyed scent. It colours water slowly to golden yellow. Be wary of cheap powder and very low prices. All the simple checks are in real vs fake saffron.
