In short: when you buy caviar online in Switzerland, check three things: that the stock is held in Switzerland, that it ships chilled, and that the caviar is imported with a CITES certificate. At LeDiamont, Iranian caviar is in stock in Switzerland, shipped chilled by Swiss Post and delivered in 1 to 2 working days anywhere in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Prices are shown in Swiss francs, VAT included. Living in Zurich or Geneva? See our page on caviar delivery in Zurich, Geneva and across Switzerland.
Why buy caviar from a seller based in Switzerland?
Caviar is a fresh, delicate product. It must stay cold, between −3 °C and +3 °C, from the stock room to your fridge. Caviar shipped from abroad goes through customs, where a parcel can wait for days outside the cold chain. Duties and VAT are also due on delivery.
With stock in Switzerland, there are no customs and no surprise charges. The parcel leaves chilled and arrives in 1 to 2 working days, with a tracking number sent by email.
A reliable seller also states the sturgeon species, the farm origin and the CITES code of the batch. To know which signs to check, read our guide real vs fake caviar.
Which caviar should you choose?
LeDiamont offers four Iranian caviars, all from farmed sturgeon, like all caviar sold today:
- Beluga AA®: the largest pearls, light to dark grey, with a mild, buttery flavour. The most prestigious.
- Ossetra: brown to golden pearls with nutty notes. The connoisseur’s choice.
- Sevruga: fine pearls and a bold, briny taste.
- Baeri: a balanced, accessible caviar, ideal for a first tasting.
To understand the differences in detail, read our guide to Iranian caviar and our comparison Ossetra vs Beluga.

How much should you order?
Tins range from 30 g to 1 kg. For a plain tasting, allow about 30 g per person; as a garnish for a dish, 5 to 10 g per plate; on a canapé or blini, 3 to 5 g. Our guide how much caviar per person helps you choose the right size, and our caviar price guide helps you compare offers per gram.
